Flatten The Curve

March 25, 2020White River Valley AmbulanceCoronavirusCOVID-19

Flatten the curve seems to be the Earth’s new slogan. In a lot of ways, It is hard to grasp the situation we are all in, and why flattening the curve is so important. Situations are changing so rapidly, it is hard to keep up, even for those in the medical field. What we do know, is that our hospitals won’t be able to keep up the demand if everyone is sick at the same time.  Communities are coming together, companies that can retrofit machinery to make medical supplies are doing so, donations are coming in from everywhere. We are in this together, some of us are just at home.

COVID 19 is new. It is believe to have been transmitted to humans in 2019. That is only a few months ago, which is seconds in the medical world. While we are learning new things everyday, there is one thing we do know. Staying home, flattening the curve, WILL help. It will give those on the front lines time. Time to help those who are sick, time to have more supplies come in, time to keep learning how we can best fight this virus.

The crew at WRVA extends their thanks to all those who are essential, and still on the front lines. To those who are home, to flatten the curve, we appreciate it all. (Click on image to see contrast of staying at home Vs. going out).
