Reach out. We are stronger together.
As the pandemic stretches on, it is easy to feel like you can’t get ahead of it. As soon as you find a rhythm, there is a new twist of how to go in public, how your child attends school, maybe your hours were cut at work, the stresses can seems huge. It is very important to remember you are not alone in this.
We may all be sitting in our separate homes as we gather for Thanksgiving next week, but we are still together. On Front Porch Forum, Facebook, Messages boards and around the communities I have seen neighbors helping neighbors. Stacking wood, dropping off groceries, even just a friendly beep as they drive by. Keep it up! Keep posting pictures of sunsets, farm animals, smiling faces, even the magical snow fall! Remind each other you aren’t far.
Sometimes though, we need a little extra help, beyond what neighbors can provide. Or, perhaps you can see that a neighbor is struggling, but don’t know how to help them with the bigger things.
Vermont has resources available. As we enter this season of what is for most of us, the hardest event we have had to endure, keep up with your needs. If you have a need not being met, be it food, fuel, guidance, care, use the resources Vermont has. Everyone plays a part in this. If you are taken care of, you are able to care for the next.
No one of us can do this alone. We are Vermont Strong for a reason.
